    Default Sinking Christmas Trees

I recently attempted to sink five christmas trees, connecting the trunks with stainless cable along with three cinder blocks. About two feet of the trees are sticking out of the water. Will these trees eventually waterlog and sink? I tied a nylon rope to one of the trees and allowed 30feet of slack from my marker, matching the water dept. Just curious.

Usually it takes one or two concrete blocks per tree depending on how big the tree is. I'm sure they will eventually sink but it might take a while. If you look in the brush pile building threads you will see some guys are coontailing their christmas trees. This is an awesome idea that enables the baitfish and crappie to get inside the thick christmas trees. They are cutting out all the limbs every foot or so creating a foot wide section every other foot all the way down the tree. This might be something you try next time that would help them sink faster and would definately hold more fish. Hope this helps.

the unfortunate thing is that everyone is going to know where my favorite spot is.... Until they sink.

They work! Cost is a factor even if you make your own.
