Default Got the hard water blues!

It looks like this ice might be around for a while. Forecast for the week shows cold and a chance of snow pretty much all week long. I guess it's time to get a count of what I have and what I need, and get the boat ready for ice out. Time to start reading the crappie magazines over again for the umteenth time to see what I missed before. I havent;t been out at all since December 31, and looks like a while till next time. I am going to Florida in two weeks, so I can throw a few jigs at the redfish and snook at least. Might even fight a few gators at Myakka Lake for a few Florida crappie and bass. Hopefully East Fork will clear out by the time I get back. I hate this time of year!!!

Yeah, you're right about that Larry. This was a great winter for the big slabs, no doubt! My dad and I were just talking about that. I can't remember a winter with so many big crappie. Numbers are always there, but not the consistent size we had. I meant I hate this time of the year when the lake is froze. Believe me, the cold ain't a big deal. I work outside in it, so I can definitely fish in it. Guess I'm just never satisfied. Hey, maybe I'll try them blue and white tubes on some Snook in Florida....HA HA. I got some nice bucktails tied up and ready for them. Catching those beasts on spinning gear sure is fun. Still rather be on the boat catching crappie though.

Sorry to hear you are iced in.

I've got some good thick ice now. :D:D:D I hope to get out tomorrow and give it a shot. I agree, the cold isn't too bad, it's the wind I don't like. Winds are supposed to be low tomorrow and thats good, I don't have a shanty, just me and my bucket!

Not me. You won't catch me out on that ice. Good luck, and be careful.
