wal mart battieres are the best for the money, interstate can not be made good every where you go
This may have been covered before if please excuse me.
I found and bought a used pontoon so I need new batteries for my Minkota, it's a 24 volt. The question is which battery to buy.. I've got some Interstates in the old boat which have worked pretty well for a couple years.
I know everyone has an opinion and that's what I'm looking for.
My shopping list is really long but the batteries are a gotta have real soon.
Thanka in advance

Delco Voyager. If you go the Wally World route be sure to get the Everstart Maxx. They are made by Johnson control and the others are made by Exide and some other rinky dink company.

I always use wal-mart to you can't beat them.
can't catch'em at home
I had Interstate trolling batteries in my boat when I got it and over five years later I reluctantly replaced them with new Interstate batteries. They were working fine with no problems but I just felt like I had got good time and use out of them and didn't want to run them until I had a problem with them. I figured that any problem would develop at the most in oppertune time and didn't want the hassle.
I kind of figure starting with a $100 battery and getting five years out of it comes to $20 a year in cost per year for that battery so why push it until it fails me. Thats just me now but I may be changing my tune with the way the economy appears to be going.
I am curious as to how the guides and other fisher folks work it with replacing their batteries. Do you wait until there is a problem with them or just replace them on some schedule.
I replaced my cranking battery another year and a half later and it was still working ok.

Minkota says batteries should only last a couple years with constant recharging( I think they are talking professional fisherman use). My Interstates are 2-3 years old and they replaced interstates that were over 5 years old.
Are you all suggesting starter batteries or troller batts?
If they are troller looks like Wally World gets the vote.
I change mine out as they die. I use 3 so there's always an opportunity to do a little switching around if I fine one dead when I get to the lake.
