    Default Pushing Jigs?

Just so i understand the term correctly, this is when you have multiple poles out on the front of your boat and you are trolling foward at a slow speed?

Me being somewhat new to crappie fishing, this technique seems a little intimidating. Can someone give me some key tips as to how to start? Season? Structure? Speed? Depth? etc?

The way I'v done it is with a 3-way swivel, 1/2 oz or larger drop sinker with foot or so leader and regular barrel swivel on bottom. Run another foot or so leader to your bait, length depending on lure and weight.

I use pretty much only on deep water fish and "push" jigs, flies or the occasional minnow. Have read success using this method with crankbaits. Big advantage I like is much less line to reel in than longline trolling, but more terminal tackle to deal with.

I use 14ft BnM's rigged with 6lb P-Line. I put a 1/16 oz jig on each of my 8 poles and go very slow. I use this method when water temp gets to about 50 degs. This method is most effective from 8ft up to 1ft deep. I also use this method when I am fishing structure and I know I don't have to move.

You can run a search on 'spider rigging' and get countless hits....

I usually rig 12 poles (10 - 14 footers) out in front of the boat in rod holders..

    Jigs...minnows.. 1 bait rigs...2 bait rigs...all a matter of preference...IMO
