What is the best type oil to use when frying up crappie? All vegetable, canola, corn, Peanut, Soybean, are some other oil that I do not know of?

For deep frying i normally use peanut oil for deep frying. But my last trip to BPS (SORRY I WAS ALMOST ASLEEP) a sales rep told me about cottonseed oil. I was a little doubtful about it but after they fried some samples up and i tasted them they where better than the peanut oil fryed samples. Also it a whole lot cheaper than peanut oil also. But if you are pan frying I like olive oil.

We will be using a large deep cast iron fry pan. So would say we will be deep frying the crappie.

Stumpjumper, did you mean BPS? I'm gonna try to get some cottonseed oil and try it. Don't sound too good but I'm willing to try just about anything new.
