I was looking at Gander Mountains drift anchor socks.
I haven't used a drift sock, I always used buckets to slow the drift in the past.
Has anyone used the gander mountain drift sock? Are they all about the same? Anyone with any recommendations?
I think cane pole prefers big chains!! they work the best i hear!!
We fish in the ocean in a small 14' alum boat. My buddy, not the shiniest penny.
He bought a 24" sock when i told him to get 36" at the smallest. If you have much surface current you have to get the sock down below it to do any real good. The little 24" sock was almost worthless for us. Im sure a chain would work much better but i would not take a risk with the sound. Id rather give my buddy a life jacket and make him swim the opposite direction while i fish, he never catches any fish anyway:p.

I am a heterosexual male. 2 Chronicles 7:14
"If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Wouldn't the chain get hung up in the brush causing a mass disturbance to the fish?

I'm sure chains would work well, but it seems like they would tear up any brush piles, crappie condo's, etc. that they hit.
I was just kidding about the chains trying to get cane pole fired up..searchfor some of his posts on dragging chains..quite hilarious!!
