Please put your State in your profile so us old geezers can remember where you fish.
If the barometer didn't fall to low fishing is great after rains. The water is oxygenated and this makes fish frisky especially catfish. All fish feel better after a rain during HOT weather when oxygen levels are low. It just makes sense. Low oxygen levels lathargic fish... rain fixes that for a short time and they feel great.. I don't know if this is scientific or not. Just common sense after fishing before, during and after a rain.
    Tight lines to ya!

After telling you how good fishing is after a rain I decided to put it to a test. I ran to the lake at 7:30pm and trolled until dark. I only caught 3 crappie but the white bass were schooling with the shad. I landed 17 whites, 1 spotted bass and 3 largemouths. A guy sitting on a dock had a stringer of maybe 25 catfish so they were biting. I might have caught more crappie if those whites were not keeping me busy. They love to tangle trolling lines...I was back home by 10pm without getting wet. Tropical storm coming into my area Saturday so Fishing will be put on hold until Monday morning.
