Exclamation "Death Stars" for West Point Lake ...

Found this "article" - thought it might be interesting for anyone who fishes, or is interested in fishing, West Point Lake. It also answers the question - "who would be interested in purchasing these attractors" ....... (seems the WPLC was interested enough to purchase around $4000 worth )

(this is from an Apr 2005 WPLC newsletter)
"Your West Point Lake Coalition has recently made a purchase of 144 O-No hang Fish Attractors. After a couple of weeks, the attractors will start to grow algae which will attract bait fish and start the food chain. The O-No hang fish attractor mimics a fish’s natural habitat, but without snagging your line like the natural habitat would. We would like to thank Ron Savage (West Point Lake Coalition) as well as John Anderson (U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers) for their assistance. The sites were identified and GPS locations/coordinates were secured. Over the next several weeks these structures will be submerged. After a period of time, maps will be posted at both Highland Marina and Southern Harbor Marina indicating the habitat GPS locations".

but, I bet they are marked on the maps, that have been printed since they were placed in the lake. They may even have "fish attractor" buoys marking them.
There were various types of attractors (PVC/bucket, pallets, etc) placed in the lake, back around 1999. I believe those were also marked - either with buoys or GPS coordinates on maps. I would expect the "Stars" to receive the same treatment.
I'm basing all this on website info, as I've never been to the lake. ..... cp
