I agree with the comments you have already gotten. Don't tell anyone (Crappisaurusrex). Your wife is gonna know, obviously. You MUST want to do it for yourself (JZachem) or you have already lost.
Like JZachem, I smoked heavily for a long time - 23 years. I was a career Army Warrant Officer and everyone smoked. One day (1 May 1980) I woke up, reached for a cigarette and thought 'My lungs hurt - I quit'. Threw them away and never smoked again. It wasn't easy. The drug addiction (nicotine) took about three weeks to diminish. Ever time I wanted a cigarette I went out and ran two to five miles. That will clean your lungs out. Another thing that helps is lots of sex (that will make her either very happy you are quitting - or shut up) The most difficult part for me was that my wife still smoked for 10 years after I quit. Even tho the nicotine addition was gone there was still the HABIT of seeing a pack of cigarettes laying on the kitchen counter and automatically wanting to pick one up. She finally quit when her mother got lung cancer. My wife then decided SHE wanted to quit. For years she would occasionally crave a cigarette.
You can do it but you have to be the one that want's it! Good Luck.
