Once you hit 50 you can join the AARP, then you can get some great deals on insurance through them. I saved many times my membership fee on their insurance.

Try Farm Bureau!! I am 61, in good health and I pay 287.00 per month for health ins. with a $500.00 deductible. You have to be in good health i.e. not obese, or other major health problems.

They only want to insure you if you promise not to turn in a claim. lol

My Dad died young...My Mother & I searched for insurance and came up with AARP...I handled all of Mother's business so I really became accustomed to insurance claims and how they were handled....It might have changed by now, this was a few years back, but at that time I would highly recommend AARP...

Don't know for sure if it's true are not but I've heard that AARP pours lots of money into anti gun campains. If that is true they sure don't need my money.
Some companies have it where you can keep your insurance when you retire. Of course you have to pay for it but it might be worth looking in to.

Okay I'm a Government employee and I assume that you are too, unless you only receive veterans benefits, if you're retired military your wife would be covered under TriCare.
Check with your State to see if they have a state sponsored health plan. Or do a search on private health insurance on the web and see what comes up.
