Default Salvaged a tuff day on the ice

T.I.H. came up with Fuzzy this morning.
We had another storm roll in and once again the Horn was a tuff place to fish.It was 11:30 and the 3 of us were skunkola'ed.
I decided to pull the pin and hit another lake that might give up some gills.

We poked around for awhile catching crappies which were on the small side(CC).
Then I went on a 30 hole auger binge a bit shallower.
I knew they were there ,but where.

Well I finally found them and for all of the work I felt satisfied with these fish and some others.

It was sorta late when I found them and the bite shut off soon after.
Yet they sure were fun while the gettin was good.

These were pretty decent and 1 of these days
I should go in there just for them.

We worked pretty hard today .
I drilled better then 50 holes and we moved, moved, moved.
Tommorow looks like a bear to be out there so I'll take a day and work on some jigs.
Here's the last pic and a video of a nice bull.

wow that gill is huge its almost taller then long, i had a very similar day without the fish. I drilled many holes but really never found em, the snow is really deep to walk the lake and the ice isn't quite ready for my quad yet. Its going to be very cold today but still going out with my I.D.I in search of a tasty meal

they are for St Croix rods however a sized #8 guide wrapped on the end of any rod and an 1/8" rubber groumet stuffed in the hole of the guide works great.Better yet buy a St.Croix and then wait till the rod tip snaps off then you seperate the guide from the spring guide and mount it on your rod.

Even better yet go to Gregg Austin and have him make you up a rod. These are 24" custom Elite's that I love.He makes several kinds.
Go to my forum to find him or Lobysbaits.
