Lake Decade Strikes Back!

My doctor/buddy and I got started yesterday a bit after noon in a breeze that was creating some young whitecaps. The drifts were apparently too fast to fish properly, and we only boxed a dozen in around three hours - one here, two there, and so on. Again, it seemed like everyone was catching fish, but just barely enough to get a decent stink out of the grease.
Things do change from day to day!

I'm out in the gulf SS-114-A. Should be heading back in Monday or Tuesday.

I never worked out there, but I drilled a few in Gulf's South Tim 37 patch. Gotta be fairly close. Deep, crooked and high pressure stuff - combat duty drilling 'em. 1978-1979. 25 years in the oil patch - 10 as a drilling foreman for Gulf/Chevron. No wonder I'm half nuts, huh? Still, it was fun - sort of.
Whatever, I can sympathize with you. Be careful - the iron and the gas don't forgive mistakes.

Pete, that's what you get for calling a lady easy (no brainer). A grand lady she is but sometime she can turn on you in a second. She can be sweet or cruel, nice or wild. Sometimes she can even be a beast. Thats why I stayed away today, I just knew that with 10 to 20 winds she would be showing her bad side and I know better than to take Linda when its like that. Call her what you want, but Lade Decade is a nice place to fish but then mother nature has to protect her assets sometimes.
