    Default Jerry's New Boat

I am the official go-fer boat rigger assistant and historian for the imfamous Jerry Blake's Action Fishing Trips, lol. So, here goes, enjoy and hopefully this all will bring a smile to your face.

Thursday last week we left for Oklahoma to pick up Jerry's new Blue Wave. Got home about 10:30 and then up at 5:00 to take some folks fishing. Friday, we both guided all day. We ABSOLUTELY killed'em. Between the two boats we caught 75 slab crappie, a 22" walleye and other. Saturday morning, we were both up before before dawn and worked 16 hours rigging this boat. The last 2 hours were FINALLY on the water for the "Gray Ghost's" maiden voyage (we called it something else, but I will refrain). The pictures below are the progress as the day went. You are looking at a boat that had never been in the water yet; the motor didn't even have it's first 5 quarts of oil. Man is it sweet!

"Darryl, put that #$%^& camera down and get to work!"

    "Hmmm, wonder what that's for?"

    Empty Boat

    Boat with Seats

"I sure hope this works when we're done!"

"Ahhh Duhhh, Ahhh Duhhh, maybe we oughta think of this a bit."

    She sees the water

    Look'in Really Good!

"Backing in, hope it floats, hey did you put the plug in?"

Yep, it floats. A look of satisfaction.

    Default Hey

Nice rig Jerry. Looks like a Roballo off shore rig. What is it?

It's a Blue Wave. Oh, and to make sure everyone knows, it's name is "The Gray Ghost" in honor/memory of Lee Roy Rodgers and his favorite jig - a gray hair jig with red thread neck. Yeah Bill, didn't see it before, but it is Navy Gray, lol.

Really nice boat. I wish I had one like it. It does look like an offshore rig. I love the room you've got and the walk-around console.
