SPAM and Unwanted Solicitations for sales

Hey, what gives with unwanted spamming and solicitations with the following email that I received from crappie.com:

Anyway, we had a great time, and at the end of the event Keith provided me a copy of his "The Crappie Book". I have to say, this is one top notch, high quality, and very informative book. Hi Bob D thanks for your post as I didn't sign for emails. Slab being you almost never send out email I wouldn't worry about it. Some here may not know that, but they will find out from others that it is not some gimmick to sell books for crappie.com.

Bob seems new to the site and I am sure he just didn't know the facts about it, but you are right if you don't want email from the Admins then check the box for sure.
