    Default Fresh Filets in Frig?

How long will filets stay good in a refrigerator before they should be froze? I usually freeze them right away but I am anticipating frying in the next few days. thanks

I have kept fillets in the fridge for three or four days and they were fine. Not as good as fresh but not a big difference. I wouldn't keep them any longer though without freezing. Keep them wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, they'll be fine, air is the enemy.

Sometimes I let mine set for 3 or 4 days in a bowl of water with a little salt added. My frig is set fairly cold, ice will form on top of the water, they still taste fresh to me.

the key is not to let them sit in any water. i put the filets in a plastic container and elevate them so that the water can drain and then cover them with ice. the ice will keep them cold

I've always kept mine in a bowl of water with just dash of salt added, we have left them in the frig for about 3 days with no problems. I have never heard to NOT allow them to sit in water??? I would think they would dry out???

well when you have ice over them that will keep them wet and the water when it melts from the ice will drip in the space below. here is a website backing my solution

    Default zip-lock

I put them in a zip-lock bag, fill with water, remove as much air as possible, put them in the fridge all week long at times. They won't know the difference when the hot skillet does it's magic.

I had mine in the fridge for about 20 minutes Saturday before cooking them. They were alot better than the bunch I had thawed out from the freezer!
