    Default Book Publisher wanted

Does anyone know a good publicist? I think I will write my own fishing book. I'll cut them in...50% me, 30% for the publisher and 20% for the person who gets the deal done. Let me know. I also need to autograph 2,457,497.625 more hats and sell them at a quarter apiece for the downpayent on my dream on a lake.

I think you've set your sites a little high, Ship. If you had a book published, you might get 10%.

Ship, if you can negotiate 20%, Obama should send you to the Middle East. You'll have the Israelis and Palestinians hugging in no time!

Write an e-book. Put it on the net...get "all" the profit. Then you can really negotiate with a "pub" seeing how you are already making money on the book. :D

Ship I had some written for my grandchildren.
When I contacted an editor I got the shock of my life.

So....reading some more I discoverd the folks who wrote "Chicken Soup for the Soul" ran into the same wall.
They borrowed some money and had some books printed by a local guy, then went out and sold the books to stores.
A publishers rep on his way westward caught the book in the airport gift shop, and the rest is history.

Look around you, see if you have a Newspaper that's not doing so well.
He may run off 10,000 copies for you at a pretty reasonable price. It works out to less than a buck a book.
But you have to do the cutting, colating and binding yourself.
So if you paid the printer a buck a book, the artist, editor, and expenses for binding, you'd have to sell the book nearly $10 each to come out with soup money.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

    Hey Hound,

I have "e" book fishin4crappie already on my website. Crappie Basics and I hooked up to do crappiebasics and fishin4crappie in PDF format for CD sales. It is just that schools and libraries want paperback or hard cover bound books. Bob and I would love to get our material published.

Wow..That is an eye opener. I already have five books published under my name.

    Doing It Our Way
    Black Thoughts
    Black Windsongs

These were all done between 1965-1975 and were published through a company in England. Never made more that $1,000.00 on any of them. but it did get my poetry and thoughts into print. It is more difficult trying to find a publisher for Fishinn4crappie without giving them $75,000.00 "Up front" money.

Hey Mike, I'm fairly sure (as a brother in Christ) you have heard of Xulon Press maybe theres a another self publisher out there. Or put a Christian twist on the book and have Xulon publish it.

Good luck on the endeavor my friend, God bless
