    Thumbs up Stabil marine grade

Although I have been using stabil in my gas every time I fill my boat, I have been using the regular stuff I buy at Home Depot. I didn't know until today that stabil makes a marine grade that provides extra protection against corrosion, in light of the fact that most of the gas we're getting now contains ethonol. I looked for it today at Academy Sports, but all they had was the regular stuff. Will have to check at BPS the next time I'm there. Hope this helps someone else.

I use seafoam exclusively...it does the same as stabil...plus cleans and decarbs. Also adds some lubricity to the fuel for the top end! I understand what you mean about the ethanol though...I try to find fuel that doesn't have it.

I have seen this stabill at wal mart, but they have the price doubled over regular stabil. I bet a dime there is no difference. I use sea-foam and like it.

Seafoam is at walmart...o'reilys...autozone....napa....between 6-8 bucks. I have two 12 gal tanks...use one can every third or so tanks....winter time I keep it in my tanks. Spring time I do a major decarb with 3/4 gallon of gas, one can seafoam, and a can of deep creep (seafoam).

Didnt know they made a marine grade. Whatda you guys think about just using the regular?!? Since the ethanol gas has already damaged the fuel pump on my mower I now add it to EVERYTHING! Hearing the price difference, think the regular is good enough (I'm running a two stroke boat motor adding the oil to the gas)?

The marine Stabil is twice the price but if you compare it to regular stabil you only have to use half as much so it evens out. I haven't seen seafoam locally yet but will try it if I ever do.
