Hampton Roads Crappie Fishing

It's good to see a few Hampton Roads guys posting. I live in Va. Beach. Beaverdam Swamp is one place I enjoy driving to. Guys let me know when you are going. I would love to join in the fun. Wonder what kind of craft you guys use. I have a big canoe & trolling motor that works great at Beaverdam. The people out there are really great too. The Park Ranger is always helpful.

I live in Chesapeake, but haven't made it up to Beaverdam yet. I plan to give it a try as soon as I get this cast off. Where else do you fish? We do most our fishing just across the border in Moyock and Elizabeth City. You know, grass always looks greener on the other side..

I fish Lakes Whitehurst, Smith in Norfolk, Prince in Suffolk, West Neck Creek in Va Beach out of a 14' Jon boat. I'm glad to see there are some other crappie fisherman in the area. Maybe when Bill gets his cast off and I get rid of the rest of the litter of pups we can organize a Tidewater crappie fishing get together.

I fish out of a Lowe 1448 jon boat. I usually take off from work in the afternoons and fish in the early evening on weekdays. I also let the bass fisherfolks have Beaverdam in the mornings on weekends and start in the afternoons.

I'm willing to come to a crappie get together if something like that can be arranged.

Gents I have been searching & posting on this board for off & on for about 2 years. Only now do I see local guys into Crappie fishing. Crappie fishing is my favorite but I do get into panfish, smallmouth etc... & even catfish. I'm not a big Bass fisherman but do enjoy it. My roots are from Big Pike counry in North Dakota.

I am seriously interested in some kind of get together. I think that Beaverdam would just be the perfect place. Perhaps some of you know great spots on Prince? I think we should all meet somewhere to talk. Any suggestions? This could be a fun thing. Perhaps our moderator could help us put something together. Most of my Sundays are free. I work every 3rd Saturday. I'm a weekend fishing guy when I can. This Saturday I am going Flounder Fishing with one of my technicians who has a Bay Boat. Next Saturday I work.

My wife is really great about the fishing thing and enjoys the outdoors almost 1/2 as much as I do. That says alot I am sure you know.
