I'm seeing alot of shad being chased near shore. Do Crappie move shallow to chase shad mid-day? Or are the LMB doing the chasing? Water temp mid-50's.

It's tough to keep shad alive for an hour, let alone a day. I've tried with no luck when I used to catfish more. I've been told it takes a round bucket with a good filter of some kind and constant aeration to keep them alive. They beat themselves to death or knock the slime off or something like that in a square well, and they get their scales stuck in their gills and die if there is no filtration. Just use minnows or jigs close to the same size and they'll do just as good....and cheaper.
