Man , I asked the same question , the answers were mixed, but I have
been using them tail down with good results.

To those of you who have caught fish on the rocky top super slab, how do you rig them? Do you rig them so that the uncut side of the tail swims up or down or sideways? Also what size hook?
I just got them in today.
thanks

The same question goes for grubs --is it tails up or tails down? Then again some will say the other question how about tails to the left or right. Just some many questions to be answered.:D

I think that it is all personal preference and confidence. I have a buddy who swears by rigging curly tail jig with the tail up and I rig mine with the tail down. We fish regularly with each other and to be honest we do about the same. I would rig one each possible way you can and then drag it next to the boat and see what action you like best and start there.
I figured that since the crappie don't look down for their food and will be looking up they would see the underside of the super slab. So I turn the uncut side up so that the pattern is seen from the bottom. But I think it's really six of one and a half dozen of the other. Whatever works best for ya!!
I rig mine with the tail toward the back and use 1/8 or 1/4 oz heads with #1 hooks

Never heard of them. Do you have a pic?
Are these really that good? I've read the hype and seen them in the store (or various knock offs anyway). Are these solid body or hollow jigs?
I'm almost exclusively a tube jig for crappie kinda guy... whats ya'lls feedback?
