Past week at Emerald Isle

Took a week off of crappie fishing to try for some trout. I went to Cape Lookout rock jetty twice. Just did fair. The two days we fished, you could catch a 12" - 16" gray trout on about every cast. Only problem was you couldn't keep but 6 apiece. In the two days we probably threw back at least a 100. The specks were scarce and small. Caught a few 2 pounders on Gulp and live shrimp, but most were throw backs and small keepers. We caught some monsters last year. One day 3 of us had 9 citations. Probably still a little early. Did pretty good on sea mullet off Shackelford Banks with fresh shrimp. Anybody been crappie fishing at High Rock?
