I was in line for the draft in 1962, passed my physical and stood ready but no one called. In consideration for my Mom I did not join, not that I didn't want to. I left it up to God's plan so here I am today. I salute each and every one of you who served. I have the highest respect for you and thank you sincerely.

God blessed our nation greatly. Our service never ends even though our enlistment may have. Those that served know what I mean. Those that didn't, thanks to you also for keeping the home front. I still cry every time I stand for our national anthem. BTW, have you ever read or heard the other verses to the Star Spangled Banner? If not, you should.
Thank to all

Hate to think of where our country and world for that matter would be without the sacrafice made by all the veterans.

I was compelled to serve my country in some fashion during the first Gulf War. Had a good job I couldn't afford to let go, so I enlisted in the KY/ Army National Guard. Served 6 years. Entered basic training when the ground war started.....three days later it was over.

God bless all the Veterans!!!!

On vacation on Oahu, and went to the Memorial today. As a vet, it really hit home the sacrifice that these guys made. They run a top notch organization at this site. Beyond the honor of being in the presence of the men who lay at rest on the ship, was meeting two survivors on site and talking to them.

I recommend this tour to anyone who visits Oahu.

Veteran here and thanks to all who have served and the spouses that held the home front. Two years ago I got a chance to go back to hawaii and go back to the ship and walk the walk up to that wall. Never have I felt so small. The price that they paid was humbleing to say the least. I was there when they started to build it. It is awsome. USN 1958-1962 USS VANCE
