This wkend, the furnace in my camper decided it wanted to lay down...
It is a Suburban brand, '92 model, I will have to look tonight for an
exact model number.
It will light, burn (normal looking blue flame) for about 5-10 seconds,
then it shuts the gas off, goes out. It will try to relight and burn
another 5-10 seconds, then go off for good. The blower is running this
whole time.
I had a few remants of dirtdobber nest in the exhaust tube, so I took the
whole stinkin thing out Friday night, took it apart and cleaned everything out
and put back in. Same result.
I am thinking thermocouple, but wondering is there some way to
TEMPORARILY bypass it, just to see if that's really the problem before
I go to trying to order parts Thanks, Jeff

Mine did the same thing on one of mine in my motor home. Check and see if it has a printed circuit board. Replaced board with the board from my rear heater and it came on. Bought new board, solved problem. It should be accessed from the outside panel, behind a plastic cover.

Thanks guys, I'll try to get a picture if I can, need to get the model too.
It does have a card in it, with little diodes n junk soldered all over it -
one of the reasons I'm a little skeptical about whether I can fix it or not.

Thermocoupler
FISH-ON!!!!!
what he said!:D
Here's some pictures, sorry not to good. Thanks to all who've replied,
ya'll are starting to educate me a little already. It doesn't have a pilot,
auto-lights each time, so that must be a flame sensor instead of a thermocouple? Whatever it is, it's the thing on the left in second picture -
thing on the right is the lighter thingamajig
The circuit boards and the valve are inside a box over on right-hand side, have to take
it out and apart further to get a look at it...
The model number is NT 16S
it's in a '92 model Coachmen slide-in, truck camper.

spark ignition with flame sensor, let me see what I can find.
Are you pluged in to 110v or are you running on your 12v dc battery? Mine does exactaly what you said yours does if im on the battery and it gets low.
I was plugged up to the 110, but there ain't much tellin whats goin on,
it's going through a converter and putting 12v to the heater, so I
wouldn't rule out low voltage - thanks, I'll put a meter on it and see
how much juice I got
Sticksteer fixed me up with a parts breakdown and some advice,
so I got a list of stuff to check when I get time now.
Thanks to Mr. Jim too. I'll let ya'll know what I find out.
