Exclamation Looking at the picture ...

it's hard to tell length & thickness. But, from the eyes, mouth, & visable coloration (blue-green back & solid white belly) ... it would appear to be a White Crappie. Looks to be fresh out of a cooler of ice ... or possibly from deep, dark, or cold water ... what with the stripes/specks not being visable. The elongated nature of its length, might indicate it being an old, but stunted growth White Crappie ... possibly from a body of water that does not have much in the way of an ample foodsource. It's too long in stature, to be a Black Crappie. IMHO

Eastern in a reservoir. Yeah I was looking to catch some bait fish for the catfish but as soon as the line hits the water these things were grabing them.

The bluish green back coloration is wrong for a White Perch. Body shape doesn't correspond, either.

Looks like a crossbreed of whitebass ( head/ mouth ) and a crappie ( body ). If you look close, you can see that it has a lateral line very similar to a whitebass also. Also, as you know, the whitebass has a voracious appitite. Catching them one after another is normal when you find a school of them. I'm glad you took a picture of that fish. It may be a new breed. How did it taste?
