It is probably too early , but there are some nice humps in the southwest corner near the dam and the channel .
Are there still good hydrilla beds in the two creeks on the east side of the lake ? If so , I would check the weed bed edges closest to deep water.
I moved to lake palestine about 10 years ago, that is how long since I have
been on Lake Tyler.
We used to catch the krap out of crappie in the crappie barge
at daylight this time of year. We would stand by the well on the bank side and
flip a small tube jig to the opposite end. Count down (?) and
slowly retrieve. Once you figured out the count , it was on.
I have not been to the barge in over 10 years either.
good luck

I split my time between Hybrids/white bass and crappie. The best
hybrid fishing is coming up soon and the water cools down.
I used to be a fall-standing timber- crappie guy. Now I am a more year-round- brushpile-crappie guy. With the lake full as it is now, there is not
very much visible standing timber on my end of the lake.
Crappie are scattered right now , almost like post spawn time.
I can catch a few in a lot of places , nice size fish , but no limits.
good luck
