They have one in one of the local joints here...
Just curious, wondering if snooker tables are still commonly found in any part of the country. I grew up in the Midwest and they were very common there in the 60s & 70s. Now you have to search far & wide among the beer joints to find one. Is snooker still played enuf in yur neck of the woods that finding a snooker table to play on is easy?
Appreciate any responses.

I don't remember any of the bars having a snooker table when I was in college at Oklahoma State, I only remeber regular pool tables and darts. I didn't pay much attention to those games, But when you attend the school with the best looking women in the Big 12, well, it's a little easy to get a bit distracted :D

They look good playing snooker too!
No snooker tables around here......oh that's right, I'm about 60 miles from Shoer.
Do gooder since April 26, 2009!
I grew up playing snooker at the Boys Club. I have never seen a snooker table around here other than in a pool hall. None seen in a beer joint or other establishment. I do believe the VFW here still has one. It has been a long time since I have visited there.
Gosh, haven't been in one of the pool halls here in probably 20 years.
Way back when, the snooker tables were always the first four or so
when you came in the door, and were in nicer shape than the rest in the
back. Don't know what they've got now.

I grew up in a very small town...the local establishment had only a snooker table. Later when venturing to a town over six times bigger (and still only 3k population) five miles away, the local pool hall was set up as described above (two great snooker tables in the front and four also ran eight ball tables in the rear). Our really good players spent their time on the snooker table.
I haven't been to any true pool halls in over 20 years, but have yet to see a snooker table in a one or two table bar/tavern in many years...I have great memories though!!!

Man I havent heard "snooker table" for a long time. Some 55-60 years ago in a small Indiana town named Lapel we had snooker tables all over the place. Crime was low and our marshall did not even have a car. He carried a double barreled 12 guage every where he went.
My snooker table experience was as a youngster growing up 35-40 years ago. Same type of small town in Missouri. Marshall had no visible gun! Residents looked out for each other.
When no sports, part-time job, or other after school activities were going on, I was "allowed" to go the the pool hall for one hour up to three times per week, but never more than three times! Great memories...
