    Default Fair bite at Santee

Hello all. I've enjoyed reading the forum and finally have something to post. Fished out of Lone Star Sunday morning. After a bad start to the day in discovering the motor wasn't running right and having to change my plan of fishing along the trussel in the upper lake, I decided some fishin was better than none and fished the cut between Low Falls Landing and the Congaree. The bite was intermittant, but my brother and I managed to catch about 20 with half being keepers befre noon. No slabs, but nice fish for filleting. They were taking med shiners at about 4-7 feet up tight to the bank in 10-14 ft depth. Heard several other boats did well too. I guess the cool weather is starting some activity. Not many fish, but a beautiful day on the water.

Good catch any day. Welcome aboard and I need to get back down to Santee myself and try em.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Thanks for the welcome folks. Hope to get back down there this weekend if I can get the boat in for service on the motor. Those fillets sure were tasty paired with a big pot 'o grits.
