    Default Boat battery

I would like to know if a Deep cycle gel type battery, group 24 ,like the ones used on scooters would be OK to use on a boat as a starting battery? Also to run:A fishfinder, radio, CB etc.? Tight lines. Ribar

Don't see whay it won't. The starting battery in my Stratos bass boat says marine starting/deep cycle or something like that on the label. It runs the livewell pumps, depth finders,,bilge pumps, lights, and accesories.

For what its worth, I also saw a delivery truck the other day with pictures of the Optima batteries, which are gel cell, on the side of the trailer. The blue top battery was labeled as marine.
