Started out at daylight fishing a nasty mess called a crappie hole, no takers. Got a call from greenchicken that he was almost to the ramp so I started that way fishing an under water hump on the the way, got one bite when I saw GC backing down the ramp. After exchanging pleasantries we got back to the under water hump and I get a few more bites but no fish. We moved down river to a favorite spot of mine (GC, you're under a gag order). My favorite hole was really slow, I caught a couple of small crappie then moved to see how GC was doing, worse than me. GC decided to head to Lake Lucas, I thought I would stick it out for another hour or so then move to the lake. I didn't have to move to the lake, I got them figured out before long and started catching crappie after crappie in 12'-14' hugging the bottom. All but 4 crappie were caught casting 1/16 oz purple/red flake or john deer 2'' tubes with an injection of crappie nibbles. The other 4 were caught tightlining, 3 of the 4 were on minnows and the other on a 1.5'' john deer curltail. Water was 59 degrees. Final count 33 crappie, 2 green carp and 1 carp. These are 2 worth mentioning because they were caught on 2# Fireline Crystal with a 4# leader in a river current from the rocks.
Sorry I couldn't get it worked out sooner so that GC could have caught some.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
