most brushpiles are visible, the coves to the west seem more productive.
Its a pretty good lake for cats, lots of eater channels and some big blues.Never caught or seen a flathead,or even heard of anyone catching one.Fair amount of bass.
A side note, there are stocked tiger muskie in there, and although I've never fished for them,on occasion I've had a few follow and strike boatside or at the bank and it can give you quite a scare!! :O

Caught a grass carp there once, never weighed it,but was a tad over 4 foot long.

i may have to pull out the big spinner baits and see if i cant nail a muskie. they are such a pain in the ass when you catch one and are not expecting one.....ie no net!

may have to bring the gear just in case.

according to mdc the lake is stocked with channels, blues, bass, crappie, muskie

says that buffalo bill lake has NICE sized crappie as well as bluegill.

how does the boat rental thing work? says $5 for a boat, would love to just bring the trolling motor and a crispy 5 spot and that be that.

There are envelopes and a metal post.Put your money in,tear off the numbered slip, put in pocket. They also provide oars and pfd's-not sure how late in the season they are available.
