Default Any opinions on P-line Premium ?

Anyone have a comment or opinion on P-Line Premium line in 6# test ? I'm interested mainly in castability, memory, and strength. The 6# line is the same diameter as 4# Trilene XL, which should mean I get more line on the spool, cast further, and still get 6# strength. How does it hold up on rocks and timber ? Is memory less or more than XL ? -Thanks

You're already getting 6# strength with Trilene. That's because 4# Trilene is really 6# line. Most lines on the market are stronger than what the packaging says.

My experience with P-line is limited. I didn't like the one I tried but can't remember which version of P-line it was.

There are lots of good lines on the market. Ask 30 people and you'll get 42 different suggestions. Having said that, I'd stick with Trilene XL.

P.S. There are TONS of line discussions in the archives. Use the "search" function. You can read about lines until you're physically sick of it.

Yeah, the rated pound test on the packages of line, to me, is
just about useless - when I'm picking line, or comparing brands in
the field, I go by the diameter which should also be on the label.
I like .008 to .012 for most all of what I do.

I have used the p line premium, not bad but I wasn't crazy about it.
Found I liked Berkley ultrathin better at the time, but they don't make that anymore.

To much Memory for me also. I'm sticking with Silver Thread AN-40.

I have used the green P line that Gary Mason advertises That stuff is the strongest mono I have ever used the only thing bad about it is the memory. There is away around the memory but you have to do it every other trip or so. This was taught to me buy Gary Mason run out however much line you want to put on your reel across your yard then tie off one end and strech the line out pull hard a few times and hold it for a few seconds when you get snagged on a boat dock is also a good time to stretch it out
