Default Father - Son trip to Big Lake

Well I got to bring the man fishing that showed me how to fish yesterday. We don't get to go together near as much as we used to so,it sure is nice when the fish cooperate when I get a chance to do something like that. :D Caught the specks on the north end of the lake and the rest of the fish in the marsh and at the wiers on the south end of the lake. We ended the day with 9 specks, 3 flounder and 10 reds. Everyone was catching their limit of reds! :D

Me and my dad each managed to catch our "Cajun Grand Slam"

Oh yea, we caught 60 crabs too! (60 is the limit where we were crabbing)

    1/2 of them.

    and the other 1/2.

It was a nice break for my mom and dad, who had to strip the house out (AGAIN) after IKE. So they really enjoyed the crab boil as did my family.

    Great Report, Scoop!
Fishing with Papa, catching with Papa, family gathering, and good pics of it all! Mighty good stuff!
I gotta go back to Big Lake again one of these days. I'm a lot closer to it now than I was when I went at least once every year, fishing with Jeff and Mary. Fun times.

beats a good day at work.

Way to go Dwayne, thanks for the nice picts of the fish and the family gathering. Tell your folks hello for Linda and I. We know what it like to strip and redo. It ain't know fun. Still have to deal with my down the bayou house that had 30 inches of water in it. I'll check it out this weekend.

Calcasieu Lake...may not be spelled right.... just south of Lake Charles. My son and I went down for the salt water gathering this summer. Caught more crabs than fish because a storm ran us off the lake that Friday, but we had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves. I'd love to go back, but time hasn't permitted it.

Glad you and your dad had a great time Dwayne!

Looks like a great trip Dwayne. Looking forward to being able to take my Dad again. My turn to teach him. He taught me to bream fish so is my turn to return the favor...

    Hey Dwyane -
Looks like I caused a major screw-up to your thread here by posting a response after the pics. Then everyone else followed suit. Whatever, if any of you other folks would like to read our responses, you have to look at the pics first:D
Again, sorry 'bout that. pass a good weekend.
