    Question 'Lo all...

I'm new here and would like to ask for some opinion. But first...me, I've always fished for anything as a kid but got bit back in '85 and bought my first boat and basically fished for Bass (and anything else). Then I moved and got into Walleye fishing (and anything else) and bought a bigger boat. Well, I moved again and find myself in a warmer climate with many "world reknown" lakes all around me and start fishing seriously for crappie (and anything else). I have 2 wonderful B&M poles I bought back in probably '85 that have had underslung "mini" spincast reels on them and they've worked pretty much OK up to now. Could you guys please offer some suggestions for me on what open face spinning reels you'd recommend for these poles? Thank you all in advance and I hope to learn lots here.

Welcome from Mississippi where the crappie are "As big as they grow!"
I use my spinning reels for trolling. I have some cheap shimmano's that work fine.

I have been using Shimano reel for a pretty long time now, probably 19 years this time (moved to Corpus and was fishing 100% saltwater from 1980 to 1990) and then I still have a couple of the old Bantam 100 Silver Casting reels from the 70's that work.

I have a lot of both casting and spinning reels and would have a hard time using anything else. I am sure that the are as good as it gets. You may have to spend $60 or even a little more, but you will not regret it.

I use the Pflueger Trions 4520 model. Normally about $40 retail...you can find all you want on Ebay for $10 to $15 each. Check out http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-...nkscrappie.com he is a member here...great guy to deal with and has good deals on spinning reels and all that crappie stuff.
