good job gilby....thanks for the report.
Jan and I went to the rock after fighting boat problems most of the morning, battery charger died and you know it, both batteries were stone cold dead. HPCrappieman was good enough to loan me his batteries and we got to the water at noon. We went up abbotts and fished docks on the main channel there. found two docks on the channel that were holding 10 inch crappie in 6-8 feet of water, fish were at 5-6 feet. Most hit minnies but a couple hit a acid rain jig and crappie nibble. We released all with their promise to show back up at the same dock on the 18th. We also got one 6" cat, 1 eight inch bass and two bluegills. All on the same dock.
tomorrow is boat repair day at my house. All volunteers are welcome, call for directions.

good job gilby....thanks for the report.
congrats on your catch
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Glad you got to go and catch a few. Sorry about your boat troubles. Even more sorry that I can't make it to boat repair day. I have to get ready for the coast.:D
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
boat problems aint no fun when youre wanting to fish but yall still did pretty good
[never snap at the hand that feeds ya
gilby-were you shooting docks or fishing with a cork & minnow? I tried a few docks in
2nd creek Friday but no bites. Only managed 11 dinks trolling.
J-horne and I fished Abbots Creek just outside of Buddle Creek Sunday afternoon. Fished places we haven't fished in a couple years and caught several nice fish. Caught fish tightlining minnows in 15 to 10 feet of water. Brought home 7 fish over 10 inches with one 14 inch fish that weighed in at 1lb 9 oz on digital sczles. Like Nat said, the fish are scattered and finicky. Can't wait for the water temp to get into the low 60's. Maybe then the bite will be more consistant with more slabs than chips.
well the work day got shortened but still got the gas lines all replaced, got most of the trailer lights to working and got the trolling motor to run again, got the batteries on charge and man o man I do hope this will take care of some of the problems. Boats are like children, something to do all the time, but at least we dont have to send then to college. :D
