    Default extraordinary times

Caught a little of the pres's speech last night between channel flipping -
one thing that caught my ear was, about the financial meltdown, he said
something to the effect of "America is going through some extraordinary times" correct me if I'm off on the exact phrase...

Anyway, I thought that was a sort of funny, if not technically wrong
choice of words - the way it hit me was, if I went fishing:

and had a blowout on the trailer, bought 8 dozen minnows and they
all died before I got to the lake, wind kicked up to 30+, only caught one
catfish (and got finned by it), ran out of gas on the way back to the ramp -
and then "launched" my truck trying to load the boat...

Extraordinary would probably be WAY down the list of what kinda times
    I'd call it

I don't know if it was all that. Maybe I'm sheltered somehow but I haven't met a soul whose been directly impacted by any of this hype. Everyone I know still has their home and job and life has gone on as always. Haven't seen any soup lines in the streets or whole families living in cardboard boxes by the dozens.

I remember the S&L bailouts, all the end of the world talk and hype. Life went on just fine.

Well, if you were to talk with your parents or grandparents who lived through the Great Depression, I expect you'd find out the the vast majority of country folk never felt the difference between before and after the crash. They were already so poor, they could't tell the differnce...but a country boy can survive!

Welllllllll, right now I'm clubbing about low 80's to mid 80's each outing. That is bogey fishing for you. Occationally, I do manage to club 70'ish fish, not often. However, I did read that most guys that fish by clubbing never break 100. So, I am ahead of the game.

    You still driving hot shot?
