Well I finally got out this morning. I've been waiting for cooler weather. Ended up catching 18 crappie ( only 4 keepers ), 2 bass and 2 catfish. Water temp. was anywhere from 70 to 78. Hit 2 different creeks and found all crappie close to the mouth only. I guess that means they are just starting in? All were caught with minnows and slip bobbers, around 3 to 4 ft. deep in the brush, in about 8 to 10 ft. of water. Is it unusual for small crappie to come in the creeks before the slabs? All in all a great morning. They were my 1st crappie caught since last spring. I turned them loose as not really worth cleaning 4 fish. I still have meat in the freezer. It won't be long now.:D
