There is a old saying, "Wind out of the north fishing isn't good". After years of fishing I've found this not to be true. The wind was blowing 10 to 15mph with gusts over 15mph out of the north. That didn't stop me from catching a limit. I just tied on a 1/4oz jig and turned up the trolling motor. Colors for today were Hotyellow/pink/chartgrn, and purple/ornange/purple tipped with Berkley Crappie Nibbles.

Wind out of the east, the fish bite the least, NE and SE almost as BAD! I limited out today also, wind out of the North, We have a 20 fish limit here, I caught 35 this morning 9 Inches to 14 inches, most were 10 to 12 inches. Had a good day. Also if you will watch the cows, you will learn something too. Can't tell everything, now can I?

I went fishin' with two older guys one time, we didn't do much good,
and on the way back home, one of 'em was grumbling to the other one
about stopping and "shootin' them lieing cows" :D

We drove are usual 60 miles to fish the other day---about 30 thru farms---not one cow standing--I b-tched the whole way there
Got rained out after about 3 hrs.--cleaned 17 fish ,which is about as good as ever---so go figure :):)

As I said and proved it doesn't mater which way the wind is blowing. "If you're catching fish you're on them if you're not catching them you're not on them".

Wind out of the North: Brings fishes forth!
Wind out of the West: Fishes bite the best!
Wind out of the East: Fishes bite the least!

There was some questions about wind direction on another forum. The point behind this post is it doesn't matter what direction the wind is blowing or were the sun, moon or stars are. You have to find the fish. I've always said "If you're not catching them you're not on them" move and find the active fish. It's my belief that there are crappie in the lake somewhere that are willing to bite. It's up to you to find those fish.
