Hit the search button at the top of the page (blue header line) and type in "Rod holders". Tons of good info and pics. You may want to take a couple of vacation days to read thru it all.

    Many choices. Good luck.

Do your search for ROD HOLDERS and go back to a date of 7-4-08 thru 7-7-08. Look for post by TreenNC & Stump Hunter. Several good post about making your own rod holders around those dates.

    I agree.

The Hi-Tek units are VERY well made. We just finished installing 5 of these on my buddies boat. Two 4's and one 2 up front, and two 3's in the back.

We researched all the common holders and mounts and these were the best engineered of the bunch. As I said, they are well made and there was an attention to detail that was impressive.

I use the Roberts/Atwood holders. I like them fine and they are available almost anywhere. My only complaint is the pivoting slide that keeps the rod from slipping out is cumbersome to open when trying to grab the rod in a hurry. They are all plastic so there is always the possibility of breakage.
