If I had only one choice of a lure to put in my survival kit without a doubt it would be a 1/8 oz. white Beetle Spin. If I had two choices the second would be a 1/16 oz. white Beetle Spin.

    Default Favorite bait

1 1/2" Chartruese and black tube jig on 1/16 oz. unpainted lead head with crappie nibble all fished under a float
Why? In Louisiana's mostly stained waters (where I fish) it is the most consistently catching bait I have tried
I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.

Casting - Pearl/ blue back Lil Fishee on 1/32 pink head round jig.

Trolling - Red head/Black/Chart. AWD ripple --head weight depends on depth.

Tight Linning - minner for crappie or minnow if you are going for crop pee.

Just about any kind of tube jig (chartruese & black is pretty hot right now, but so is a red white & blue glittery one) on 1/32 unpainted jig head. I always spike 'em with Powerbait crappie nibbles. Sometimes a squirt of Yum helps too.
