Default Thanks all for the payers, they helped

Man that was a pretty rough ride and some of the worst hit areas were Orange County that is my old home and is about 90 miles South of me. Saw the Governor talking about how bad it was around Galveston, but that orange County took the brunt of this storm. My wife's kin that came up here to get away from it are looking at a bad deal. Their house has water up to the eves of the house and bridge City was covered in water. Even Hwy 87 going in there was under 6' of water. Orange city also had it just about as bad with 8' covering much of it.

Up here we got a pretty hard blow for many hours and the storms kept training over us with high winds. Lots of stuff to pick up and am so thankful we didn't lose power at my house until 3 yesterday afternoon and had it back on is about 1 hour. We are so lucky and most others around us in this county lost power early. Very unusual for us to not lose power here. As far as I know everyone North and South of us lost power so we were blessed. I really felt like my prayer to keep power really worked.

Can you believe we were still getting rain from Ike's left over bands this morning?

Anyway I want to thank all of you for your prayers and concern.

Now back to tying tomorrow I am sure, LOL!

Glad all is well. Hope everyone can make a good recovery. Cities can be rebuilt but lives can never be replaced. It seems as though everyone acted very wisely on this one.

Glad you and yours made it through OK. Prayers for your extended family. Putting everything back together will be tough for them but as the post before said, you can't but lost lives back.

Default Glad to see you made it OK, Skip...

will continue the prayers for your kin down in Orange. Sounds like they're gonna need lots of patience and God's grace for a bit.
