    Default Truman today 9/10

Things are tough on Truman. We fished 9/8, 9/9 and 9//10. Results as follows

date hours invested area fished keepers dinkies
    9/8 5 lower Osage and lower Grand 0 8
9/9 12 lower Osage, lower Grand and Tebo 5 about 20
9/10 9 Grand above long sholes and Tebo 1 about 15

Two fishermen in the boat, we used jigs and minnows. All keepers caught on minnows. Even my reliable trees didn't produce. Only bright spot was that one of the keepers was just over 15''. Everyone at the State park marina said fishing was very slow. I was planning on going back Saturday but it may be a waste of time. Anyone have any idea how to catch a crappie under these conditions?

We were on Truman - Bucksaw area Sun the 7th, 3 of us fishing, approx 8 hrs and ended up with 20 keepers but we had to move around a lot - catching one or two and then move to the next tree - we went both directions from the marina - we probably caught 2 or 3 times as many shorts. Minnows was the bait of choice - fishing 10-15 ft deep - timber - 12-20 ft of water, but as you say it was very tough. The past 2 weekends we had our limit before noon....guess they are starting to move to their winter pattern. The ones we caught were in excellent shape - very fat and schools of shad everywhere - no wonder they are hard to catch - why bite a minnow on a hook when you can eat all you want.
