I have several B n M 11' and 12' rods and would like to know what baitcast reels you guys use and recommend?

Well since I have a good number of my old Bass reels that are high end Shimano that is what I use. No use in them just gathering dust. Sold some of them, but keeping the rest. IMHO if the pocket book will stand it they are the best available by far. I have several Chronarch's left and a few others, but don't need reels that costly for crappie.

Pro Angler has some low cost casting reels that Jerry and Paul use and are happy with. That is the reels he used in that DVD.

The $40 Wally Marshall baitcast reels are the ones I use on all my spider rigging rods. I tried a few inexpensive ($20 or less) reels. They were bigger, heavier and did not work as well.

    None. Use spinning reels.

I have the 10 and 12' B & M I use spider rigging and I got some of the BPS low end reels. They were about 50 or 60 bucks and they ran a special for about 39 bucks. I got the left hand reels because I have used spinning reels for years and am more comfortable with that set up. They have worked really well and I use the spider wire line on them. Just another option for you. As Skip said the Shimano is the best I've used but I still have a few on some bait casting rods and can't bring myself to move them. I still have one of their old model Bantam's (low end) from the 80's and it still works fine. Gave it to my Grandson.

Thanks for all replies. I have 4 old Ambassador 3500's that are small enough I can use. I'll look on ebay and sales at BPS also.

    Thanks again

For trolling anything will work. I like the Wally bait cast or the megacast from Bass Pro.($29) last time I bought one.
