New to trolling need help..

Hello everyone I fish Jordan lake in North Carolina. I just started fishing last Friday. I watched those spider rigs and they seem very affective. I am limited to what i have at the moment. I tried to do it from the back of the boat today with 4 rods. What is a good set up to do this. How much weight, what type of Jig, etc. Please give me some advise. Thank you happy labor day!
