View Full Version : Dip net

I have observed in some crappie shows that the fishermen are using a dip net that seems to have a handle approx. 6' and a net that is approx. 15-18" in diameter. I have not seen this net at any at Wally World, BPS or Cablelas. Are these home made or does someone make them? Lost a few big crappie when spider rigging and would like to purchase one.

They're made by Ego. Saw them advertised on a Midwest crappie show and ordered one. About $40 if i remember correctly.

Made mine, used a tent pole, it fit right over the handle , it is now 9 foot long.

If you keep your crappie in a livewell during the trip, try to purchase a net that is small enough to fit into your livewell.

It will save you some time when you come in from fishing.

Get the rubber mesh one. A little heavier but less problems with hooks.

I have 2 ego nets. One landing net and one for the baitwell (striper fishing with live shad).. Best nets I've ever owned.
