Went to Big Lake Saturday. Mainly went to catch shrimp but ended up catching about 4 dozen nice crabs. Didn't catch hardly any shrimp caught 2 nice specks and saw a BUNCH of reds being caught behind Lambert's bayou, fishing against the rocks with live mullet. Had a good report of shrimp being caught out there friday. Haven't heard about the jetties. Good Luck and give us a report. :D

    Default big lake

I would put in at heberts. Mainly because there are more places to fish than just stuck at the jetties. Although if they are bitting at the jetties there is nor better place to fish. Like shadow said, most of the good reports are comming from the wiers. Good Luck.

Went today behind the wiers and caught 4 redfish and 5 specks and released several other reds and missed a BUNCH! Had 1 speck that was probably in the 6 to 8 lb class get off at the boat and dropped another one about 4 lbs at the boat. Will post the pics of what I caught today a little later.

Yes, as long as the gates are open you can go through. The only wier that you can go through is at grand bayou. Sometimes the current is pretty strong but you can make it through and MAKE SURE YOUR RODS ARE DOWN! If not you will break them on the top of the gate.
