    Default crappies on cranks

A friend and I were trolling for wallies and started catching crappies on the crank baits. I have read on here that that happens but it has never happened to me. The 1st crappie I thought was a fluke, but we kept going through the school and kept catching. I guess it was not a fluke.

Were they white crappie? Down my way the white crappie seem to like cranks a whole lot better than the black crappie do.

Take a look at the Mississippi board. Trolling cranks for crappie is part of our regular summer pattern. At least for some. There have been many days that my wife and I would boat over a hundred fish. The length limit is over 12"s on some of our lakes and the creel limit is 20 per person. So it would take a while to get two limits. But catching a hundred fish a day is a blast on cranks. Good luck.

What Cranks? Holy cow, you baited my curiousity till I'm ready to break out a boat winch and drag whatever you say...
    C'mon, give it up now!
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

I use Bandit 300's or any other crank bait that will dive to 12 to 15 feet deep. I catch a ton of fish on the BPS $1.99 specials. Try 'em out.

We were using cranks that were running about 10' deep. I was using one that looked like a shad and my buddy was using a black and green and red one. Can't remember the names but we caught wallies on them too.
