Default Anyone catching Crappie in Mozingo Lake ??

Just wondering who on this forum fishes the Mozingo Lake ??
Would like to chat with you about the lake & the fishing.
I retired recently & plan on fishing the lakes in northwest MO.

    Default Crappie at Mozingo

Sure, I fish it quite a bit just because it's close. I'm relatively new to the area so it's not going too well so far. But if something comes along I don't have a problem lettin' a guy know...

I fish Mozingo frequently. Crappie population is good and getting better. Lots of fish in the 6-10 inch range. Not a ton of them being caught bigger than that...but an occasional 12-15" fish is caught.

Bluegills are very abundant in the lake and 10" fish aren't uncommon.

The bass population is similar to the crappie. The length limit is helping, and MDC has urged fisherman to harvest bass under 12" --- don't expect to catch anything to huge, i think the biggest bass during the past few tournaments there has usually been about 6 pounds.

Don't fish is much for catfish, but have caught several off the dam, and word is the dam area is where folks are catching walleyes (usually by accident while throwing stickbaits for bass).
