    Question Installing water pressure gauge

I am trying to install a water pressure gauge on a 1986 Mercury 60 HP, Model A964981, but I cannot find a way into the motor for the pressure tube about which about 1/4 inch in dia.

Anybody tried to do this and know a good way to get the tube inside the motor and also where to tap into the cooling system?

I installed one on my Johnson 150, ran the tubing alongside the fuel line through the meshing into the front of the motor. There was a fitting located at the back of my motor. I installed the proper fitting and then connected the tubing. I can post some pics if it would help.

Thanks, I went into the motor along side of the shift, and speed cables. I have not had it on the lake yet, but at fast idle the needle was reading 2 or 3 pounds of pressure so I think it is going to work.

It will be nice to just look at the guage and not the pee hole.

    Thanks for your response.

on my 1987 mariner 150. It had a spot on the left back side of the block. There,s a little cap that when unscrewed allowed me to screw in the hose barb. It was on the water jacket. Where the water hose crossed from one side of the heads to the other. Yours will only have one head. But still should have the screw or cap.
