Default While we have a Big Fish thread going what is your largest CRAPPIE!

I have caught one that I feel certain went over 3 lbs because of the reaction of people looking at it but at the time I wasn't a die hard crappie fishermen so it really doesn't count. Since I have started fishing crappie tournaments and dedicating all my spare time to crappie fishing. The largest I have caught and weighed was a 2 lb 12 oz white crappie. Caught it trolling.

My biggest so far was a 2lb 11oz.

Of course, I hear if you can make it out to Grenada, MS, it can change VERY quickly....
I won't be at work........I'm feelin' crappie today!

    Exclamation I don't really know ...

the exact weight ... but, I've caught a bunch of 2 to 2.75 pound Crappie, in my fishing career. I've yet to break the 3lb mark, to the best of my knowledge - but, I am still trying ............cp

GABoy - you are right Grenada can grow um. The big fish that I caught but didn't weigh came out of Grenada Lake. Its good when your in-laws live right by the lake! I didn't measure the 2 lb 12 oz fish. She was caught in Ross Barnett my home lake. Once I weighed her on 2 different scales and she weighed the same and wasn't over 3 lbs she ended up in a ziploc! :D I plan to mount all my crappie I catch over 3 lbs unless I catch to many. Luckly I fish Grenada allot so that may be a for real problem!

caught a couple of fat 18 inch crappie back several years ago, never weighed them, but after seeing some post of some nice weighing shorter fish, I wish I would have weighed them.

I have caught 5 over 3 lbs. But the latest was Several years back. The fish was 17 inches long and had a 14 inch girth. It is listed in the new louisiana state records. My nephew caught the 12.9 something listed right below it and was 16 7/8 inches long and 13 7/8 inch girth. Imagine that! As far as 4 lb crappie. I have never seen but 1 in my 30 year catching career, and it was at a taxidermist shop in the freezer. We measured the fish and it was a full 18 inches long. Can't remember the girth exactly but it was well over 14.
Hold My beer and watch this sheeet!!!
