Default Catalina Island off Southern Califorina

Fished on the Pursuit out of 22nd St. Landing in San Pedro

    Fished Catalina Island backside

Nice anchovies with a mix of sardines

Some of the fishes caught today

Me with my largest calico of the day

James with the largest calico of the day

Charlie with a 20 lb yellow

    Baxter with a nice goat

    Gunny sacks full of fish
It was a good day to be out on the water. I caught a limit of bonita and half a limit of calico bass. I caught all my fish on the flyline anchovies and sardines. I threw the iron throughout the day and came up dry. The yellow was caught on a leadhead squid combo. On the way home we saw a nice paddy loaded with dorado, but they didn't bite.

I would like to thank the crew aboard the Pursuit for all their hard work.
Final fish count for the day according to http://www.sportfishingreport.com/ was 44 anglers caught 29 Sheephead, 144 Halfmoon, 147 Calico Bass, 13 Whitefish, 6 Barracuda, 168 Bonito, 1 Yellowtail.
Thanks for reading and goodluck on your next fishing adventure,Pokerface.

Hard to fish with that kind of scenery. And how appropriate with "charlie the tuna" Thanks for the pic's. If we ever see rock like that offshore in Louisiana, you guys on the west coast will have probably experienced the "big one". Hope it never happens. Looked like a fun day on the water with friends.

California is a great place to fish, but you just have to deal with the crowds.
